It is then that he meets Nora Goode and weds her, trying to end the curse on the two families. Sadly, everyone parishes in a massive house fire, except for Nora. She gets sent away to a mental institute for the rest of her days.

It is only after that, that a stranger appears and he ends up being Franklin Goode. He murders Samuel, Katherine, and Kate Fier and is finally stopped from a poison dagger by Simon. Summary: The Betrayal is the first book in a three part serious dealing with how the Fier family came across its share of misfortunes. It all starts out when Susannah Goode wants to marry Edward Fier. Edwards family doesn't want him to marry suck a poor girl, so his father Benjamin who is the magistrate, decides to have Suzannah and her mother burn at the stakes for being witches, which they weren't.
Afterwards, William Goode becomes obsessed with revenge and puts a curse on the Fier family. He vows to get his revenge on them one way or another. In fact, William is the one who practices the Dark Arts. William then goes on and murders Edwards wife and father.

When Terry Ryan and his girlfriend Niki get an invite, Niki is really excited to go. The party starts out normal enough, with food and dancing. Everyone seems to be having a good time, that is until the murder. When Terry discovers Les Whittle's body in the attic he knows someone at the party is a murderer. The murderer is actually Justine, who in reality is 28 and insane with rage for revenge of her parents death.
Opinion: Honestly, I didn't think I would like this book. It seemed kind of boring when I read the back, but I actually ended up liking it.

Opinion: Really good book. Shocked me at the end.
